howies “crafty” series: Charge Bikes

jon posted this 5th March 2009 1:25pm

We’ve commissioned the talented Nick Hand to make a series of “soundslides” about British craftsmen.

This is the first episode (of many) on Nick Larsen of Charge Bikes, Somerset.

TIP: Go fullscreen (small icon, right hand corner) it looks amazing!

That was great – terrific photography and good to know a bit more about what’s behind Charge (they do make some very nice stuff).

Brilliant, great little slideshow. Look forwards to seeing more of these.

Would be perfect if the flash player had a volume control.

One of your downhill riders, James McKnight was playing on a Charge Blender last season, really nice looking bike, except I just fell off it, in the dark…

I was lucky enough to meet Nick at the Charge office and talk bikes with him for a while. Really good bloke and great bikes. Couldn’t agree with him more. More people on bikes can only be a good thing. By the way, get yourself a Duster and single speed it. It’s tiring, but fantastic fun . . . .

Great little slide show with a bloke that has a real passion for what he does…great job. The bikes look awesome just started coming into New Zealand where the fixed scene is taking off too…have been looking at getting a plug.. but may just wait for the Scissor to come out!

    Keep up the good work

    Ride and smile

I’ve always cycled but could never really afford a road bike so when i was looking around bike shops and speaking to people a lot of folk recommended looking at Charge as they offered an affordable, great quality, good looking alternative. Since getting my plug last year through the cycle scheme i’ve never looked back and have been well and truly hooked on bikes. Keep it coming Howies.

This series is an excellent idea. Could there be one about Hope Technology perhaps?

I used to be a competitive cyclist but got disillusioned as there were few (no) other black road racers. I then changed sport. The rise of the fixie has sooooo brought me back to cycling!

    Nice soundslide guys!
