Christmas Wee Do- Shop Girl

If you’re reading this, then the chances are that you like a ‘good blog’. Emily Benet’s weekly Shop Girl blog is about the daily goings on in her mum’s chandelier shop. It tells the tale of the unusual shop and its following of colourful characters, alongside her burning ambition to be a writer and her unfolding romance. Her blog was spotted earlier this year by a keen free lance film director and an editor at Salt Publishing.
This week, Emily’s “Shop Girl Diaries” hits the bookshops and we will be having the Bristol launch party here at howies next Thursday evening. Emily will also be talking about the art of blogging and her journey from being a frustrated young writer to having her first published book .
We will also be showing an exclusive trailer for the short film that has been made of ‘Shop Girl’, starring Katy Wix (Torchwood) and Annette Badland (Cutting It).
Come listen, be inspired and enjoy some free beer, mulled wine and mince pies! It will also be a great opportunity to see the on-going Ink Dot exhibition if you haven’t already had a peek and pick up some christmas pressies!
The evening will kick off at around 6.30pm on Thursday 10th December Email bristolshop@howies.co.uk if you want a FREE ticket!

Hey Kim- Sorry! It’s Thursday 10th December from 6.30pm.
You don’t need a ticket but if you can email bristolshop@howies.co.uk, it will help us keep track of numbers.
It should be a lovely evening– her blog is so funny, can’t wait to get a signed copy of the book!
